Dreaming of a Caribbean escape without emptying your savings? Here's one worth a look: a return flight from Madrid to Puerto Plata for €859 with TAP Portugal. That's a genuine bargain, since the usual price sits around €1,240, so you save more than €300.
The dates we found are 18 to 27 November 2026. The flight has two stops, but at this price and for a destination like this, it's well worth it. Keep in mind that fares change constantly, so when you click through to book, you'll see the current price.
Puerto Plata is pure magic: golden sand beaches, the historic Fortaleza de San Felipe overlooking the ocean, and some excellent diving. If you'd rather head for the hills, take the Teleférico cable car up Isabel de Torres mountain for sweeping views. The local food is fantastic too, from mofongo and sancocho to fresh coconut water enjoyed right on the beach.
Our advice: check the price now, because fares to this part of the world can shift quickly. Deals to the Dominican Republic at these prices rarely last long.
