Mykonos peaks in summer (June–September) when prices climb and the island fills with tourists. To fly cheaper, consider May, late September to early October, or even winter (November–March). These periods offer better value and pleasant weather. Skip European holidays and long weekends if you want a bargain.
What to do when you arrive
Mykonos is famous for beaches, nightlife and whitewashed villages. Walk through Chora's old town, visit the Paraportiani church, swim at Psarou or Kalafatis beach. Don't miss nearby Delos (UNESCO site) and Rheneia island. Eat fresh fish and Cycladic dishes at local tavernas. The airport (JMK) is 2 km from the port with good bus and taxi links.
