Airline and stops

Best time to travel
Bologna is pleasant year-round, but spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) shine: mild weather and fewer crowds than summer. Prices tend to be sharper outside July and August. December and January can also deliver low fares if cold weather doesn't bother you.
What to do when you arrive
Bologna is famous for its medieval towers (Torre Asinelli is the standout), arcaded streets, and food scene. Visit the Basilica of San Petronio, explore Piazza Maggiore, and check the local museums. Eat tortellini and authentic ragù. Bologna airport (BLQ) is 6 km from the city centre; a direct bus gets you there in 30 minutes.
